What is Rocks & Ruts?

The Rocks & Ruts Rally is all about bringing together like-minded people who enjoy camping and off-roading. That’s what we do…bring people together. So come hang out with old friends, and make some new ones, while exploring trails on some of the worlds oldest rock…the Canadian Shield.

Pick a trail to explore, or hang-out at Basecamp learning about off-roading.

Trails range from beginner level to expert, so regardless of your skill level, there is plenty of fun to be had. You can choose from one of our daily guided runs, lead by experienced off-roaders, or if you want a bit more freedom, you can choose your own self-guided adventure.

Trails are categorized by combining OF4WD ratings, and current local trail knowledge. We will do our best to pre-run and inspect the trails just prior to the event to ensure familiarity with current conditions. Trail conditions can change quickly though.

If you are new to off-roading, we provide an information clinic lead by our professional instructors, which is more suited for newer drivers. They will answer all your questions about the basics of off-roading. Our instructors are very knowledgeable, approachable, and willing to answer any questions that you may have.

When & Where:

Basecamp will be at the Minden Off-Road Park, August 6-9, 2026

Vehicle Requirements:

For off-roading in the area, or at the off-road park, we strongly recommend certain levels of vehicle build depending on the difficulty of the trail. Knowing your abilities is key and it’s important to not over-estimate them. We reserve the right to refuse vehicles which are unsuitable to the trail. If you choose to do a self-guided run, your suitability is up to your discretion.
